U23s Beaten By Charlton

Single goal enough for Addicks

7 November 2019

Colchester United's U23s have lost 1-0 to Charlton Athletic

In the second of their U's Premier League Cup group games, the young U's went down to an early second half strike at the JobServe Community Stadium.

The first half saw both sides create a number of chances, but the score remained goalless going into the half-time break.

Four minutes into the second period though, the visitors scored the decisive goal when sub Kareem Isiaka headed home at the far post from a right wing cross from dangerman Charles Clayden.

The result leaves the U's with a solitary point from the opening two fixtures, with a trip to Swansea to come at the end of the month for the next tie in the competition.
