Young U's Set To Depart

U23s to leave at contract end

28 April 2020

A number of young players will not be offered new contracts.

When their current contracts come to an end in June, they will leave the U's for pastures new.

In Monday's statement, Chairman Robbie Cowling mentioned four senior players that will leave at the end of their contracts, Luke Prosser, Frank Nouble, Ryan Jackson and Brandon Comley.

Several younger players will also be departing at the end of June, including Louis Dunne, Cameron James and Bailey Vose, who have all been in and around the first team squad at stages in their time in north Essex.

Tony Humes said of the pending departures: "It's never pleasant to lose players from the club, whether they're experienced pros or young players trying to make their way in the game."

"As Robbie mentioned, we felt it was only fair to the boys to let them know at this time, to give them the best chance of finding themselves another club to continue their football careers.

"I'd like to thank all of them for the work they put in whilst they were with us, and I'm sure all the fans will join me in wishing them the best of luck for the future."

The full list of players not being offered contracts for next season is as follows:

Luke Prosser, Frank Nouble, Ryan Jackson, Brandon Comley, Dean Ager, Callum Anderson, Jamal Campbell-Ryce, Louis Dunne, Chandler Hallett, Tyrique Hyde, Luke Ige, Tariq Issa, Cameron James, Callum Jones, Percy Kiangebeni, Bailey Vose.
