Colchester United's first team squad have returned to training.
Under the watchful eye of new Head Coach Steve Ball, the U's players were put through their paces as they began pre-season training at Florence Park.
Things still haven't returned completely to normal following the initial COVID-19 outbreak, as Ball explained when he spoke to the official website on Monday lunchtime.
"It was a positive first day of training, and the lads all returned in good shape and with a decent level of fitness."
"It was different to any usual first day that I've been involved with - we had to follow all the current social distancing protocols regarding returning to training.
"The groups were limited to five or six players, so we have separate sessions across the day.
"That will continue for a few days yet, then we will be able to train as one group once we move onto the next level.
"Because all the fitness testing levels were good, we were able to get some ballwork done, alongside a bit of running of course!"
