U's Supporting Rainbow Laces Against Grimsby Town

Game on 5th December chosen to support Rainbow Laces campaign by Stonewall

2 December 2020

Saturday's visit of Grimsby Town to the JobServe Community Stadium will see the U's supporting Stonewall's Rainbow Laces campaign for 2020.

Taking place from November 26th to December 13th, this year's campaign aims to educate and encourage allyship to support Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) inclusion in sport, working to 'Make Sport Everyone's Game.'

This weekend's 3pm visit of Grimsby Town will represent the U's dedicated Rainbow Laces fixture ahead of Rainbow Laces Day on December 9th.

During the game, players will sport rainbow laces and captain's armbands with rainbow corner flags and fourt-official board stickers also in place at the JobServe Community Stadium.

Statistics show that twelve million people in Britain saw the Rainbow Laces campaign from 2019, inclusing 35% of all sports fans.

The club urges supporters to step out and be an LGBT ally throughout this year's Rainbow Laces campaign.
