Colchester United's Football in the Community Scheme are offering help to local residents should a long period of self-isolation be forthcoming
Following the Health Secretary's comments yesterday that over 70’s may be required to self-isolate for an extended period of time, Colchester United's Football in the Community is offering organisations who work directly with the elderly or vulnerable to get in touch should they require support of their services.
Head of Community Corin Haines said: "We expect organisations who work with the elderly and vulnerable to be overwhelmed in the coming months, we want to be part of the solution and support where we can based on our own staff capacity."
"Our team of staff can support these most vulnerable people on an individual basis so that we remain connected to these communities, we don’t want these people to feel cut off at this worrying time.’
"We expect support required with deliveries of essentials such as food and medical prescriptions, as well as phone contact to ensure the likelihood of loneliness is reduced.
"If your organisation would like to request Colchester United Football in the Community support please contact us direct."
