Richard Hall's squad are looking to record their first win of 2020.
The under 23s squad will travel to the Crystal Palace training ground for a 1pm kick-off in their latest fixture of the Professional Development League (PDL).
The young U's squad will be looking to record their first win of 2020 this afternoon, having played seven games since the turn of the year - drawing three and losing the other four.
Last time out for the U's was an entertaining 4-4 draw in another PDL match at the JobServe Community Stadium.
It was a strong Colchester United side that included several first teamers, including Luke Norris, Courtney Senior and Omar Sowunmi.
And once again, it looks as though the U's will take a strong squad to their game today.
U23s boss Richard Hall said ahead of the game: "It will be a competitve affair against Crystal Palace. We will go out there and give it our all to get three points against a team in a similar position to ourselves."
"It will be a good chance for some of the first teamers as well to get some much-needed game time as well, and a good experience for the younger lads to learn from them."
It will be the first time the youngsters will come up against Crystal Palace this season, as the original fixture from December was postponed.
The hosts for this afternoon's game currently sit bottom of the table, and could move level on points with Colchester United with a win.
