Funds Raised For FITC

Zoom event helps Community Support Campaign

13 May 2020

Much appreciated funds were raised by a Zoom event discussing the Changing Face of Football.

Earlier this month, Colchester United's Football in the Community teamed up with U's fan Bryn Griffiths for a Zoom Event to raise funds for FITC’s Coronavirus Community Support Campaign.

The event, which was well attended with around 100 viewers at its peak, managed to raise almost £600 to go towards the U’s community team COVID-19 response.

FITC Community Development Manager Tom Tayler, who took part in the event, said: "It was a great event to be involved in and was so pleasing to see good numbers of viewers who were certainly treated to some really interesting content with superb authors Carrie Dunn and Anthony Clavane - alongside some brilliant poems from Mike Harwood and Anthony Roberts."

"We managed to raise money which will go directly towards our COVID-19 outreach response work and will make a positive difference to those currently affected by this epidemic.

"Everyone here at Colchester United Football in the Community would like to place on record our thanks for Bryn and everyone involved, as well as those who donated to the cause."
