FITC COVID-19 Update

U's react to November lockdown news

4 November 2020

Colchester United's Football in  the Community are seeking guidance after the national lockdown news was released at the weekend.

In line with new Government restrictions, Colchester United Football in the Community, (CUFITC), will cease all face to face delivery from Thursday 5th November with the exception of those within an educational setting.

We will work with all our partner schools to ensure we meet their needs and provide enrichment to their pupils through sport and physical activity.

Programmes suspended until at least Thursday 3rd December 2020 include:
Boys Development Centre Programme
Girls Development Centre Programme
Premier League Kicks Programme
Skills Centre Programme
Grassroots Team coaching
1-2-1 Coaching sessions
Walking Football
Disability Programmes
All hirers of the Shrub End Community and Sports Centre

Once we have a confirmed date for the recommencement of these programmes, we will provide information on any monies paid for cancelled sessions or pitch bookings.

We expect to share this process with participants during the week commencing 30th November 2020.

Head of Community Corin Haines said: "Once again, our team is planning support during this period for our most vulnerable participants and their families, as well as providing ways to maintain the physical and mental wellbeing of all those that benefit from our usual services."

"In the month ahead, our team will provide members of the community with various tasks online to keep them engaged and stimulated’’

"Our message to all is to take care of yourselves and those around you, as well as any vulnerable members of our community that you are able to support during this period.

"Stay well, and we will see you soon either virtually or back at our sessions when the time comes.

"If you or someone you know may need support through the days and weeks ahead please contact us direct at fitc@colchesterunited.net.

"We again aim to be part of the solution and provide support to those that may need it."
