Forest Green Rovers Preview

Steve Ball's side return to the JCS after defeat at Brunton Park

20 October 2020

Colchester United will return home to north Essex this evening in a bid to bounce back from Saturday's defeat to Carlisle United.

Fourth-placed Forest Green Rovers are the opponents for this evening's 7pm kick off - with the visitors boasting one of only two remaining unbeaten records in Sky Bet League Two.

Rovers have enjoyed a good start to the season, where they are sitting just outside the top three and automatic promotion places on goal difference. They have picked up three wins and three draws in their opening six games, giving them a total of twelve points heading into the match tonight.

The U's were defeated in the league for the first time in their last match, going down 3-2 at Brunton Park to Carlisle.

Steve Ball's side will want to get back to winning ways as quickly as possible, with tonight being the best opportunity to bounce back.

"We have to learn by our mistakes and go back to the drawing board a bit, about just keeping the ball in better areas." - Steve Ball

"I was pleased with the end of the first half and I really fancied us at half time. There was a lot of calmness and a lot of talk about keeping the ball better."

"But then we had a spell for about fifteen minutes when we kept giving the ball away and they kept getting corners and throws."
