Michael Fernandes has gone out on loan to Dartford.
The tricky forward has been with the U's since last summer, and was a regular for the U23s last season.
He has been included in a number of matchday squads, but has yet to make an appearance for the U's first team.
After being involved throughout the tough pre-season schedule for the U's, he will now head just over the QE2 Bridge until January.
The move is the next development step for the young winger signed from Farnborough in July 2019, who will be hoping for regular National League South football with The Darts.
U's Director of Football Tony Humes said of the move: "It's the next natural step for Michael in his development."
"We have seen it in other young players, they aren't going to be really stretched at U23s level and need to experience regular competitive football.
"He has had a good pre-season being in and around the first team squad and hopefully this move will be beneficial for all three parties - Michael himself, us and Dartford."
