Hayden Mullins' side at Robins for penultimate away game

23 April 2021

After winning two games in a row for the first time under his management, Hayden Mullins is now taking his side in search of a win that would guarantee the U's safety from relegation.

A win at the weekend would ensure that Colchester United remain in the Football League next season, an outcome that would also happen should the bottom two lose their matches on Saturday afternoon.

But the gameplan from Hayden Mullins is to ensure that the U's complete the season in a positive way and ensure their League Two status in their own way.

"What we are trying to drive home and what we are trying to keep pushing is that it's not over until the last game." - Hayden Mullins

"We are trying to drive into the players that the next three games are so important for the club and so important for us. We want to get as many points as we can. We aren't going to take our foot off the gas.

"It's not over, we know that. But we do know that the result on Tuesday night was a massive step in terms of doing it.

"We've built up a real momentum. The boys have got a spring in their step now, and there's a good feeling back now. It's a real good atmosphere, it's always tough when you're not winning games, so to win our last two games in the manner that we did has been excellent."

It's the penultimate away game of the season and the U's will be looking to rain on the parade of Cheltenham who could go within a point of promotion with a win.
