Oldham Athletic Preview

Hayden Mullins' side in action at Boundary Park for Friday night football

8 April 2021

Hayden Mullins and his Colchester United side will make the trip to Greater Manchester for their next game, where they will go toe-to-toe with Oldham Athletic.

The U's were left disappointed after the last match, conceding an eighty-eighth minute equaliser to Barrow at the JobServe Community Stadium.

Despite a strong first half performance, Hayden Mullins' side were only able to put one goal past the Bluebirds' defence, although the chances that were created should give the U's confidence for the remaining games this season.

Going into the next game, Hayden Mullins says that the U's...

"We are at the business end of the season, we need to set up in a way that we will get something positive out of the game. " - Hayden Mullins

"We played some really good football in the first half against Barrow and we should have been two up at half time, but we need to build on that. I think it was a little bit of anxiety that crept in in the second half.

"Oldham have scored a lot, but also conceded a lot, so it depends on what Oldham turns up on Friday night.

"We are setting up for how we want to play, and what we want to do and how we feel is the best way to play against them."
