Colchester United have signed goalkeeper Jake Turner on loan from Newcastle United, in a deal until January 2022.
Turner has made the loan switch to the U's just before the start of the season, and is expected to go straight into the squad for this afternoon's game against Carlisle United.
The wenty two year old began his career with Bolton Wanderers, where he spent a portion of time out on loan gaining experience with non-league clubs such as Darlington and Stalybridge Celtic.
Joining Newcastle United in 2019, Jake was loaned out to Morecambe for the first half of the 2020/21 season, a campaign that saw the Shrimps eventually promoted via the Play-Offs.
He made a total of seventeen appearances for the Lancashire side before being recalled by parent club Newcastle in January 2021.
Jake also has national team experience, having represented England at U18 and U19 level.
Jake will wear the number 24 shirt in his time with Colchester United.
