Colchester United boss Hayden Mullins has said he wants his side to build on their positive performance on Saturday afternoon, and look ahead to Rochdale.
The U's bagged their first win of the 2021/22 campaign on Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 win on the road at Oldham Athletic, with Freddie Sears and Noah Chilvers on target at Boundary Park.
And after getting that win, Hayden Mullins has said the U's players need to put that behind them now as the focus switches to the trip to the Crown Oil Arena on Friday night.
"The game's gone, it was a fantastic performance and a really good day for us. We got a lot of what we wanted to get out of the game with the attacking football and the goals, but that performance is gone now. We don't want to dwell on it, we want to look forward to Rochdale and attack this game now.
"Rochdale look a good side, we have had a good look at some of the bits they do, and we have worked on a few bits for what we want to do as well. We know it will be a tough game, but I think we are in a good place at the moment.
"The camp seems really good, the noise in the dressing room before the Oldham game was fantastic and I said to the players that they were ready to go. We've had a real good focus and I'm hoping we can take that into the game.
"It'll be a tough place to go, they were in League One last year. They'll have an expectation on them, but we know the way we want to set up. We're confident coming off the back of a good couple of results. We can't be complacent, and we want to attack the game."
