U23s At Coventry For Next Game

Young U's on the lookout for second win of the season

24 August 2021

Colchester United's U23's side will be on the road for their next game at the CBS Arena Stadium, in the second game of their Professional Development League season.

Dave Huzzey and Richard Hall's side sat top of the Professional Development League South table after the first round of games, where they recorded a 4-1 victory over Barnsely at Maldon and Tiptree last week. Goals from Harvey Sayer, Donell Thomas and Jake Hutchinson earned the U's three points in the first game of the season.

On Tuesday afternoon they will face off against another side that took victory from their opening game, Coventry City. The Sky Blues recorded a 2-1 win in their first game of the season, beating Ipswich Town U23s 2-1.

Speaking ahead of the game, U's U23 Lead Coach Dave Huzzey said: "It will no doubt be a tough test for the youngsters, but one I am sure they are capable of rising to. Seeing the likes of Gene Kennedy and Harry Beadle included in the First Team squads will give the others lads a confidence boost, knowing that if they play well there are opportunities for them."

The match will kick off at 1pm tomorrow afternoon at the CBS Arena Stadium, with a match report pubished on the club website following the game.
