U's midfielder pleased with performance against Wigan in cup defeat

8 December 2021

Combative midfielder Cole Skuse had mixed feelings after the U's defeat to Wigan Athletic on Sunday afternoon.

The former Ipswich Town midfielder said he was pleased and proud of the performance that Colchester United gave, but that there was also disappointment about being knocked out, when there were opportunities for the U's.

But Skuse has put that behind him now and is looking for another positive performance on Wednesday night when the U's head to Bradford City in the next Sky Bet League Two fixture.

"It wouldn't matter who we play on Wednesday night, we'd be going there with the utmost confidence, because we have had some real good displays, albeit we didn't get the result against Wigan, we have got results in previous weeks.

"We'll do our due dilligence on them, building up to the game and we'll be good to go on Wednesday. We're in the position we are in the league for a reason.

"We've had a lot of change on the field over the last few months at the club, and as much as you'd like to come straight into a new club and get up and running, it doesn't often happen like that. It takes time to adapt. But I think it has come to fruition in the last few weeks, with some good results and displays."
