U's At Concord Rangers In Essex Senior Cup Fourth Round

Canvey Island trip for youngsters

17 December 2021

Dave Huzzey's young Colchester United side have been drawn away at Concord Rangers in the Fourth Round of the BBC Essex Senior Cup.

After easing through to the Fourth Round of the tournament with a 6-1 home win against Saffron Walden Town at the JobServe Community Stadium, the young U's will face off against National League South side, Concord Rangers, for a spot in the quarter finals.

The U's opponents in the next round were another side that were added at the Third Round stage, beating National League Dagenham and Redbridge in their game to set up the tie at Thames Road.

It will be a good test for the U's youngsters, with boss, Dave Huzzey already looking forward to the tie.

"I really enjoy these games, these are the sorts of games we want the lads to be playing in. The fact that they are playing with lads of a similar type, against men is excellent.

"We want to play our style, our philosophy against men, against tough teams, and that's really important for us."

Full ticketing information on the tie will be published in due course.
