The U's will head into the game sitting in sixth in the southern division of the Professional Development League, with their last game a 2-0 loss to an unbeaten Cardiff City side.
A young Colchester United side won the tournament back in 2010, with a 2-1 victory against AFC Hornchurch, and were in the final two years later, but lost to Canvey Island 1-0.
