Colchester United players and staff have all tested negative in the latest COVID-19 tests.
Around forty personnel at the U's are now being tested twice a week, and all returned negative results in last week's two tests.
The U's were one of sixty four clubs to return zero positive tests across the three divisions below the Premier League, with the EFL making the following statement:
The EFL can confirm that a total of 5470 players and Club staff from all seventy two EFL Clubs were tested as part of last week’s testing programme, with sixteen positive cases returned.
A twice-weekly COVID-19 mandatory testing progamme is now in place for all seventy two Clubs, with today’s results covering all tests undertaken from Monday 1st to Sunday 7th February.
Sixty four EFL Clubs returned zero positive tests over this period.
Players or Club staff who have tested positive will self-isolate in line with latest Government guidance.
Colchester United wish all those who tested positive a speedy recovery, should they have suffered any symptoms, and a swift return to action.
