U's Remain Clear Of COVID-19

Squad return negative results in latest tests

16 February 2021

Colchester United players and staff have all tested negative again for COVID-19.

Around forty personnel at the U's are now being tested twice a week, and all returned negative results in last week's two tests.

The U's were one of seventy clubs to return zero positive tests across the three divisions below the Premier League, with the EFL making the following statement:

The EFL can confirm that a total of 5221 players and Club staff from all seventy two EFL Clubs were tested as part of last week’s testing programme, with four positive cases returned.

A twice-weekly COVID-19 mandatory testing progamme is now in place for all seventy two Clubs, with today’s results covering all tests undertaken from Monday 8th to Sunday 14th February.

Seventy EFL Clubs returned zero positive tests over this period.

Players or Club staff who have tested positive will self-isolate in line with latest Government guidance.

Colchester United wish all those who tested positive a speedy recovery, should they have suffered any symptoms, and a swift return to action.
