We are pleased to confirm upcoming open trials for our Male (U6-U16s) and Female (U8-U16s) Development Centres for the 2021/2022 season.
Here’s what our Sports Participation Lead Joe Hart has to say about our Development Centre programmes.
"Colchester United Male and Female Development Centres' main aim is to support talented young players along their football development pathway. Being part of the DC programme includes weekly training sessions following structures and syllabus’ aligned with the CUFC academy and England DNA, along with fixtures vs other professional clubs within school half terms.
"Player recruitment is something that we take very seriously at Colchester United. Through the academic year we will hold two open trials at either a Colchester or Maldon venue. After the open trial, successful players will be invited back to take part in additional six-week trial alongside our current Development Centre players. This allows our coaches time to assess what tier they are best suited to at this stage in their development across our four tiers of player development."
