Colchester United will face two League One sides in their Papa John's Trophy Group, with another team to be added on Thursday afternoon.
Colchester United will take on both Ipswich Town and Gillingham in the group stage of Papa John's Trophy with a Premier League U21 side to be added to complete the group.
The U's have a good record against both current opponents in the group, beating Ipswich 1-0 at the JobServe Community Stadium in 2019 in the tournament, and came out on top against the Gills the same year at the Priestfield Stadium.
Hayden Mullins and Alex Dyer's side will also be joined by one of the following teams in the group, with the draw taking place tomorrow afternoon at 4:30pm on Sky Sports.
