When Wayne Brown and Hayden Mullins' side travel to the Peninsula Stadium, it will be the third attempt to play Salford City this season. The first game was postponed due to a frozen pitch, with the second called off with less than an hour to play with the playing surface waterlogged.
Colchester United picked up a point on the road in their last fixture, at Blundell Park taking on Grimsby Town on Saturday evening, and will want to take the positive elements from that game to the Peninsula Stadium on Tuesday evening.
