Hayden On Summer Signings

New U's boss has transfer targets for the summer

19 May 2021

After being appointed the new Colchester United Head Coach, Hayden Mullins was straight down to business looking to assemble his squad for the upcoming 2021/22 campaign.

"We've got our targets" says new U's boss Hayden Mullins as the U's prepare for a busy summer at the JobServe Community Stadium.

With eleven pros leaving the club, Mullins is able to oversee a major overhaul of the squad, bringing in the players that he wants.

"There's a lot of work going on behind the scenes. We will be identifying the key ones, the right ones and we will be trying to make it happen. There's a lot of names and there's some real good ones in there, and hopefully we will recruit the best ones we can."

Chairman Robbie Cowling sees this summer as an exciting opportunity to add quality to the squad, with the U's looking to get some deals over the line early on.

"We've released a lot of the players that were out of contract, but that gives us some exciting opportunities for players to come in. There's going to be a fair bit of movement this year."
