Eastman Extends U's Stay

Tom signs new deal at the JobServe Community Stadium

25 May 2021

Colchester United defender Tom Eastman has signed a new contract at the club.

The twenty nine year old put pen to paper on Tuesday morning, with the new deal keeping him in north Essex for the next two years.

Tom initially joined the U's almost exactly ten years ago, making the move from our nearest neighbours Ipswich Town.

After making six appearances in a month's loan to Crawley early in that first season, 2011/12, he returned to the U's and featured twenty six times in the remainder of that first campaign.

The ever-consistent centre half has rarely been out of the starting eleven in his decade with the club, making a total of 411 appearances.

That has put him into the top ten of appearances makers at the club, and two similar campaigns in this new contract period would get him into the top five.

Eastman has also quite rightly been a popular player amongst the U's supporters in the past decade, notching up numerous Player of the Season awards for his excellent performances at the heart of the U's defence.

The new deal Tom signed this week will keep him at the club until the summer of 2023.
