After putting in a Man Of The Match performance against Scunthorpe United on Saturday afternoon, Miles Welch-Hayes wants the U's to get a second consecutive win and progress to the Second Round of the FA Cup.
Miles Welch-Hayes was recalled to the squad for last Tuesday's game against Sutton United, where he excelled, then putting in a star performance against Scunthorpe on the weekend, being voted as man of the match by U's fans on Col U TV.
And looking ahead to Friday's game, Miles is looking to help his teammates avoid an upset and come out on top against AFC Sudbury, and get into the Second Round of the tournament.
"It's one of those games where everyone wants the underdogs to win, so we need to approach it right. We don't want a repeat of last season where we lost to Marine.
"We need to approach it right, and get the job done. Anyone can win, but we are the favourites and we need to approach it like every other game and get through to the next round.
"We want to have a good run in the tournament, we picked up a good win on Saturday and we need to take that into this game. Everyone is prepped right, the gaffer has made sure of that, and we need to go and get the job done.
"It's been tough watching on the sidelines, you're coming into the training ground everyday doing rehab and stuck inside while the boys are out training. But coming back into the squad the last couple of games, I've been feeling good and hopefully I can get a run of games.
"I feel like I've got more hunger having missed out on a few weeks of games, but I like having the competition in Cameron and Junior. I give it 100% every game, but it's good to have that pressure to make you stay on the front foot."
Tickets for the U's FA Cup First Round tie at AFC Sudbury have sold out, but the game will be live on BBC 2 and BBC iPlayer if supporters haven't been able to get tickets.
