Tranmere Preview | Hayden Mullins

U's boss looking to get back on track

7 October 2021

After Saturday's disappointing defeat, Hayden Mullins is looking for a positive reaction against Tranmere Rovers.

The U's travel up to the North West for the game at Prenton Park on Friday night, looking to continue this season's unbeaten away run.

So far, two wins and three draws have yielded nine points from the U's five matches on their travels, and Hayden praised the squad for their away start when he spoke on Wednesday lunchtime.

"We've earned our away record and points with our decent performances, and it comes from a real good place of discipline and hard work."

"We know that Tranmere are a good side and will set up in a way that they think will hurt us, but we'll want to hurt them as well.

"There are always decisions around how we want to attack the game, both in terms of personnel and how we go about the game, and that will be the same on Friday."

Speaking more about Tranmere, and how he wants an improved performance, Hayden added: "We know that Saturday was  a below par performance, and we're obviously looking to get right back on track on Friday."

"We know it will be tough, they're a good side, pose a lot of threat at home and are on a good run of form.

"They've got good players. They started off a bit slow at the beginning of the season but have really picked up in recent weeks.

"But we're chomping at the bit, the lads have trained really well this week and we're ready to go."
