Match Preview | Noah Chilvers

Young U's midfielder says the goals will come

15 October 2021

Colchester United's young midfielder Noah Chilvers has said the goals will come for him and his U's teammates, and that he will play when and where he is needed.

Noah Chilvers has endured a somewhat stop-start opening to the 2021/22 Sky Bet League Two campaign after picking up the clean sweep of fan voted awards at the end of last season.

But the versatile young midfielder has said that he would be ready to play when called upon by U's boss Hayden Mullins.

"It has been furstrating at times this season for me, obviously I want to be playing every game. But when I get the chance, I need to show the Gaffer what I can do in training, and try and get back in the team on a more consistent basis.

"I was in the team for the Salford game which didn't go to plan for the team, but I think I affected the game when I came on at Tranmere, so hopefully I can start and get a run of games.

"Every team's season can go different ways. Last season we started really well, but ended up not doing so great at the end, so hopefully we can do the opposite of that this time.

"We need to get a little run going, and that's all it would take. It's only a matter of points from the top of the table to the bottom, so if we can get going then we can get ourselves up there."
