U's assistant wants to get back to winning ways

24 September 2021

Colchester United's assistant, Alex Dyer will be the main main in the dugout this weekend, with Hayden Mullins missing due to a positive COVID-19 test, as the U's travel to Swindon Town.

The U's will be looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season on their travels when they make the trip to Swindon Town on Saturday afternoon.

It was defeat for Colchester United last weekend, when Crawley Town came to visit, but Alex Dyer has said he was still pleased with elements of his side's performance as they prepare to take on the Robins at the County Ground.

"Away from home we've been good. It's the home team that's generally on the front foot and you can counter attack them a bit, but saying that we still create a lot of chances.

"We're looking forward to the weekend now. We've put last weekend to bed and we are ready to go.

"There's enough experience in the team, and we will get there - we've just got to keep doing the right things. It's just getting that little bit of luck, and it will come.

"We know Swindon will be a tough team, but the boys are mentally and physically ready for them. They have good players in their side, and a manager who has been around and has good knowhow.

"It will be a good game, they are a team that likes to play. We have to match that and make sure we impose ourselves on the game. We want our players to go out there and express themselves and it should be an open game."
