Sutton Game Postponed

Visitors pull out due to COVID-19 cases

3 September 2021

Colchester United's game against Sutton United has been postponed.

The U's were due to play Sutton on Saturday, but the visitors reported positive COVID-19 cases amongst their players on Friday.

They informed the EFL, who have called the game off and will investigate further in due course.

The EFL have issued the following statement:

Sutton United’s Sky Bet League Two fixture against Colchester United on Saturday 4th September has been postponed.

The Club informed the League that they would be unable to fulfil the fixture due to a significant number of their squad being unavailable through injury, international call-ups and positive Covid-19 cases.

The League will now investigate the circumstances surrounding the postponement with a rearranged date for the fixture to be confirmed in due course following consultation between all parties.

Any tickets purchased for Saturday's game will remain valid for the rearranged date.
