Defender looking forward to another tough game

14 April 2022

Colchester United defender Luke Chambers says he is looking forward to another tough game this weekend.

After last weekend's defeat to Stevenage, the U's would have needed picking up after a difficult result at the JobServe Community Stadium.

And after captaining the side, Luke Chambers has said his side will need to be back to their best if they are going to pick up points on Good Friday.

Chambers has been almost ever-present in the side with forty-four appearances across all competitons this season, and will be aiming for a strong end to the campaign.

"We have to move on very quickly. Even when we won two-in-a-row, we needed to take positives out of them and move on. There's a feeling that you don't enjoy too many, because there's another one coming round quickly.

"You can carry matches around with you for weeks on end, and you learn as you get older that it doesn't do anyone any good. We didn't get the win last weekend, we were desperate to win, but we didn't play the way that was giving us success recently.

"We're prepared for the weekend, the season isn't over for us and we will be looking to build in the last few games of the season. We're trying to add every week that goes by, and we want to improve, that will lead to better results."
