Kieran O'Hara became the newest recruit to Wayne Brown's squad on Wednesday, putting pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with the U's.
O'Hara became the fifth summer signing for Wayne Brown, bringing a wealth of experience with him including international appearances for Ireland, and a distinguished youth career with Manchester United.
And now the twenty-six-year-old is ready to battle it out for the number one spot at the club, alongside Sam Hornby.
"I've got some good Football League experience across League's One and Two, so that will help me in terms of the job in hand here. Competition is a healthy thing, it's good to have quality players covering every position, and it breeds a good culture in the team and whoever is performing is playing on a Saturday.
"I spoke to Darren (Smith, Goalkeeper Coach) quite a bit over the summer and got a feel for it, but I had the first session on Thursday and really enjoyed working with him.
"We are all a team, and we all want the same thing, and that's for us to get three points on a Saturday, whoever is performing puts the team in the best position. If I can be that one to help the team then that's fantastic."
