The Match Officials for the U's first home game of the season have been announced.
Referee - James Oldham
James Oldham was in charge of twenty games last season, he was the man in the middle for one Colchester game away at Tranmere where he gave the U’s three yellow cards while the hosts received none.
Overall he handed out seventy-four yellow cards and three red cards in the games that he was in charge for last season, he also gave three penalties. He refereed most of his games in League One and League Two and also one in the Football League Cup.
Assistant - Stephen Brown
Stephen Brown was the assistant referee in fifteen games last season, three of those being games that Colchester were involved in. All of them were away and they against Salford, Sutton and Northampton.
He was also the fourth official in our 3-1 victory over Exeter in November.
Assistant - Damith Bandara
Bandara was the assistant referee for twenty-five matches last season, with most of his work being done in League One. However last season he was the assistant in matches in League Two, The FA Cup and the EFL Trophy.
Fourth Official – Stuart Butler
Butler was involved in thirty-six games as an assistant last season but was only involved in one Colchester match, a 1-1 draw with Mansfield.
