The club is delighted to announce the arrival of Irish international goalkeeper, Kieran O’Hara on a one-year deal here at the JobServe Community Stadium.
The twenty-six-year-old shot-stopper put pen-to-paper with the club earlier in the week and brings a wealth of Football League experience with him to North Essex.
Coming through the ranks at Manchester United, O’Hara had a number of loan spells away from Old Trafford, including time with Morecambe, Macclesfield Town and Burton Albion before bringing an eight-year association with the Red Devils to an end in 2020.
Sealing a permanent deal to League One Burton Albion, the 6ft 3 ‘keeper also had time on loan with Scunthorpe United, with a short time spent at Fleetwood Town at the start of the year.
Speaking to Col U TV after signing a deal with the U’s, O’Hara said he was excited to get started with his new teammates.
“I’m delighted to be here. The Head Coach got in touch with my agent and I was excited to get down here and get everything over the line.
“I’ve been looking after myself, and keeping myself as fit as possible, and I’m really looking forward to starting and getting back out on the grass, and getting back up to speed.”
Kieran’s contract is subject to ratification from the usual relevant bodies, and he has taken the number 13 shirt for his time with the club.
