Colchester United Football in the Community are delighted to share that you can now register to be a part of the final step of our brand new Women and Girls Pathway!
Every Wednesday at Shrub End Community Sports Centre in Colchester, starting in September 2022, two by-weekly sessions for women aged 16+ will be available to attend.
Women’s Football (Open Access)
With the Women’s Euro 2022 lighting up our summer and more women than ever before playing football in England, there are lots of opportunities to get involved at different levels which are suited to you! If you are looking to get back into playing football or have no experience at all and want to give it a try, this is the session for you.
Our sessions will run fortnightly and are open to all.
Age Group – 16+

Women’s Development Centre (Advanced)
A key area for Colchester United Football in the Community is to reintroduce our Women’s team. The new Women’s Development Centre will act as a foundation for the Women’s team that will be introduced in 2023/2024 season, allowing interested players to become part of 11v11 football and represent Colchester United in local friendlies.
Our sessions will run fortnightly and are open to all female players who have aspirations of representing Colchester United Football in the Community for the 2023/24 season.

Niamh Gamble, Women’s & Girls Development Officer @ Colchester United Football in the Community shared how the Emerging Talent Centre will help support the Colchester United Football in the Community Women’s team for the 2023/24 season: “We are delighted to re-introduce the Colchester United Football in the Community Women’s team into the Colchester United female football pathway. This is something the club has been missing for a while and with the introduction of the restructured Women’s and Girl’s pathway comes at the perfect time to get football available again to women and girls in our communities. With everything that has driven the female game forward with the Lioness’s fantastic achievement at the Euros this summer, we want to ensure we provide opportunities to all to represent Colchester United for many years to come.
