Colchester United have teamed up with Active Essex to deliver FREE Activate Christmas Camps to families in our communities.
We are gearing up for our Essex Activate Christmas Holiday Camps! These clubs are running in Greenstead, Shrub End, Colchester and Maldon offering Primary and Secondary children the opportunity to attend camps for free!

These camps are available for free to low income families and those in receipt of a WONDE code through their school thanks to funding from Active Essex.
Our Activate October half term camps, were a huge success, providing physical activities and a lunch for children and childcare for parents. Olivia Solanke, our Youth Engagement Officer was working at our Greenstead Activate Camp. She was impressed at how easily the children adapted and felt comfortable, sharing: "The children had so much fun in October half term, each day running up the staff eager to get going! It’s wonderful how we can offer our Activate Camps again to support those who need them the most, especially at Xmas time!.”
How do I obtain a WONDE code?
WONDE codes are sent to you by your child’s school for the receipt of free school meals. If you have not received yours yet, please call the school to request the code as you will need it to book onto the camps for families who are on benefits or in receipt of free school meals.
What happens at the Christmas Camps for primary school aged children?
Fun, fun and more fun! Our fully trained staff will keep your children active with sports, games and making new friends, Plus the children are provided with each day.
What do you offer for secondary school age children?
Secondary aged children have the opportunity to attend camps on selected afternoons over the Christmas Holidays full of sporting activities alongside a hot evening meal! Secondary school children also have the opportunity to attend a Colchester United matchday on Thursday 29th December vs AFC Wimbledon as part of an Activate Activities Evening!
When are the camps running?
Activate Christmas camps for primary children aged 4-11 take place between 10am-2pm (Check venue timings).
Activate Christmas Camps for secondary children aged 12-16 take place between 2-6pm (Check venue timings).
