Kwesi Appiah has spoken to the press ahead of Saturday’s game against Sutton United.
The forward has been out of action for the last month with a hamstring injury, but managed to get some good minutes against Mansfield last week.
The U’s travel to Sutton this weekend in the hopes of beating the 17th placed team and brining three points back to North Essex.
“I’ve been out for a little while now so it’s great to get out on the pitch, obviously need to help the boys and get some results as soon as possible, so really excited to be back and hopefully more game time to come.
“Every player needs to be fit and that comes with game time and consistency will come with repetition, the more games you get on the bounce the better you should perform, and then you can find that level quicker.
“Very frustrating [results] because we know what we can do as a group and we know that we should be competing higher in the league, so even on Saturday, losing in the manner that we did, last minute to a controversial goal. From that point of view, we know we’re competing with teams that are higher up the table than us, so now for us it’s about turning these performances into results and be where we feel we deserve to be.”
