Colchester United Head Coach, Matt Bloomfield has spoken about the performance against Mansfield and preparations for Saturday’s game.
The U’s are on the road once again this Saturday, as they play Sutton United in the Sky Bet League Two, they come into the game following a controversial loss to Mansfield and will be looking to prove a point.
Head Coach, Matt Bloomfield has given his verdict on the previous game, and has spoken about Saturday’s opponents, Sutton United, who sit seventeenth in League Two.
“I thought that watching the game back, as I felt on Saturday afternoon, that we were very decent in the game, for a team that’s chasing the play offs, we matched them, we went toe-to-toe with them. I’m really proud of how our lads approached the game and how they performed during the game, there’s plenty of positives to take from the game. There’s also loads of things that we could’ve done before the cross came in, for the goal, irrespective of what happened in the box and the decision that could’ve been given, we needed to be tighter and stop crosses coming into our box so we’ve worked hard on that this week as well.
“I think he’s done an incredible job, Matt [Gray, Sutton Manager], a really good job that he should be proud of and as a football club he’s improved them immeasurably and they’ve come into the football league and been absolutely comfortable and fine with it all so, they’ve got a fairly settled style of play and tactical set up, so we’ve been watching them this week and we know what they’re going to bring, so we’ve tried to make a plan that leaves us in the best position possible to beat them.”
