Cambridge United have beaten the Colchester United U18s team 6-0 in the third round of the FA Youth Cup after a one-sided match.
The young U’s started the game off well as Samson Uwandu almost put the U’s 1-0 up within fifteen minutes, there was a slip in the Cambridge defence however his shot was blocked well.
Twenty-two minutes in and Cambridge made it 1-0, George Hoddle flicked the ball towards goal from a corner.
After thirty-two minutes Cambridge made it two and on the stroke of half-time it was 3-0, Njoku made it three with a powerful shot towards Peglar’s near post and they somehow found time to make it four before the referee blew his whistle, this time it was McConnell who followed up from a shot that hit the post.
After the break McConnell kept up his first half form, adding two more, making it 6-0 to Cambridge and McConnell managed to get four for himself, the U’s bow out of the FA Youth Cup in a frustrating evening for Elliot Ward’s side.
