Goalkeeper wants a positive result at home

14 January 2022

On-loan goalkeeper Jake Turner is hoping his side can secure their first points of the New Year on Saturday afternoon.

Jake Turner has been outstanding in goal for the U's since coming in to replace the injured Shamal George, when the former Liverpool 'keeper was injured against Stevenage.

Twice named in the Sky Bet League Two Team of the Week, Turner has put in some impressive performances, but the 'keeper will be hoping he won't be too busy for this weekend's game against Barrow.

"It was a better performance on Tuesday evening, but we need the results to come now. The position we find oursleves in in the table, we need find a way to turn our performances into results. Hopefully, going into Saturday we can do that.

"They were frustrating goals to concede, but we aren't going to go the season without conceding goals.

"Saturday will be just like any other game, we will be aiming to beat who is put out against us. We haven't been able to do that recently, but we will put that to the backs of our minds and we go again."
