Charlie Daniels has left Colchester United.
The experienced left back and the U's have agreed to mutually terminate his contract, which was due to run until the end of the season.
Daniels joined the club last summer, and played nineteen times, the last being his 500th career appearance when he came on at Forest Green Rovers last week.
Director of Football Tony Humes said: "It's been great to have someone with Charlie's quality in the squad, both for what he did as a player on the pitch, and how good he has been in passing on his experience to the younger players off the pitch."
"He has played at the highest level, and hopefully our young lads will take on board what he has said, and can use it going forward in their careers.
"It was agreed that his contract could be mutually terminated, we thank him for his time here and wish him well."
Everyone at the club would like to wish Charlie luck with his future career.
