Jake Turner has returned to Newcastle United.
The twenty two year old goalkeeper signed on loan at the start of the season, and made fourteen appearances for the U's.
After having to bide his time for a start, he got his chance between the sticks at the beginning of November and has been a regular ever since.
The U's have been thwarted in their attempts to keep him longer though, with Director of Football Tony Humes telling cu-fc.com: "Jake's done extremely well for us and we are all disappointed he's not staying longer."
"We were working with Newcastle to extend it further until the end of the season, but they refused to work with us on it and Jake has had to head back up there.
"We'd like to thank Jake for his contribution and hard work here over the past few months and wish him all the best in his future football career, which we're sure will be bright."
