Tommy Heads Out On Duty With New Zealand

Skipper in Abu Dhabi for next two international friendlies

26 January 2022

Colchester United's Captain, Tommy Smith, has headed out to Bahrain to meet up with the New Zealand squad for their upcoming friendlies.

It's the third call up to the All Whites for Tommy this season, having played in each of their four previous friendlies against Curaçao, Bahrain, Algeria and The Gambia.

The All Whites' games are being played in the Middle East again due to COVID restrictions, and it's the final set of international fixtures ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers for the country in March.

Tommy and his Kiwi teammates have got two games scheduled in for this set of fixtures, with the first against Jordan on Friday 28th January at 3pm at the New York University Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

The second international is against Uzbekistan, on Tuesday 1st February at 3pm, to be played at the Sevens Stadium, also in Abu Dhabi.
