Exciting forward, Tyreik Wright has joined Colchester United on loan from Premier League side, Aston Villa, until the end of the 2021/22 season.
The twenty-year-old Irish youth international has put pen-to-paper on a temporary deal with the U's to keep him in North Essex through to May.
Wright has had two loan spells away from Villa Park in order to gain first team experience, last season with Walsall, but more recently with Salford City through the first half of the current campaign.
Making eighteen appearances for the Ammies this season, Wright has netted one goal for the club, coming in a 3-0 win over Newport County in August, with the loanee's strike coming in the opening minute of the game.
The latest U's recruit has also earned caps for the Republic of Ireland's U21 side, with nine to his name including one goal for his country, coming against Bosnia last year.
Wright joins the club, subject to the usual ratification from the relevent bodies.
