Colchester United have signed Ossama Ashley.
The midfielder, who left West Ham in the summer, has signed a U's contract that keeps him at the JobServe Community Stadium until at least the summer of 2023, (subject to the usual contract ratification from the relevent bodies).
Ashley has been with the U's for the past two weeks, and has impressed in both training and the pre-season matches at Bath City and Spurs, and at home against Charlton.
The game against the Addicks wasn't his first at the JCS, but he won't have good memories of his other appearance in north Essex.
After coming on as a half-time sub for West Ham in the Papa John's Trophy, he lasted only nine minutes before going off himself having suffered a serious ankle injury.
He's looking forward to playing here more though, and let us know what kind of player the U's fans can expect.
He told Col U TV: "I'm a physical player, I get around the pitch, I'm very hardworking and I leave everything out there."
"I want to get as many games as possible and gain experience with the lads."
He also explained how well he has settled in, saying:"The lads and the coaching staff have been great with me, and I'm excited to get started."
"I like the ambition of the club and I know what they want from me."
