CUFITC Awarded Female Emerging Talent Licence For Next Three Years

Enhanced pathway for the female game at Colchester United

22 July 2022

We are delighted to unveil that Colchester United Football in the Community will be a part of the Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) expansion for the 2022/23 to 2025/26 season.

This will enhance our existing pathway for the female game, to sustain its future by providing a wider and more diverse talent pool for England.

Commencing in September 2022, the Emerging Talent Centre is for players, aged 9 to 16, who have been identified with ‘emerging talent’ from either our Girls Development Centre by our staff or at one of our Open Trials:

Following the successful licence application, Head of Business Development and Investment, Jake Mullinder said. “This is something that we have been striving for a while, being a part of the England pathway will allow CUFITC to produce elite players that represent the communities of North Essex. The next three years will see the biggest growth in the female game following the Euros this summer and the World Cup in 2023. It is a great time to be involved in football and we aim to provide the best opportunities to all players who want to be a part of Colchester United Women for many years to come.”

“I am so proud and excited to share that CUFITC have been awarded an ETC license. This is a fantastic opportunity to continue to grow our women and girl’s pathway (announced in May), creating more opportunities for all female footballers to love the game and fulfil their potential.” Niamh Gamble, Women’s and Girl’s Development Officer.
