Emyr Huws has returned to the club, penning a new one-year deal with the club ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Huws spent the second half of last season with the club, putting in some impressive performances that helped the U's to a fifteenth place finish in Sky Bet League Two.
And now the Welsh midfielder has put pen-to-paper on a new one-year contract with Colchester United, making him the first signing through the door for the 2022/23 season.
Huws made twelve appearances for the club during the second half of last season, netting one memorable goal against Swindon Town, and says he will be looking for more consistency this season.
"Consistency is what I'm looking for. As a team, we want to start the season well and see what we can do. But we definitely finished the season strongly and we should be taking that into next season and aiming high."
