Colchester United will host Southend United at the JobServe Community Stadium in a pre season friendly in July.
It's the first of the U's pre season friendlies to be announced, with the Shrimpers making the journey up the A12 to take on Wayne Brown's side.
And Brown's side can expect a competitive game, with non-league Southend United playing against the U's for the first time since their 2-0 defeat here just over a year ago.
The game will take place on Tuesday 19th July, with a 7:30pm KO. Further details around tickets will be announced in due course, with more games due to be added to the U's pre season schedule in the coming weeks.
