Brown Backs Game For Ukraine

Head Coach praise for ticket money donation

18 March 2022

Wayne Brown wants a big crowd for the U's Vs Forest Green clash.

As our Game For Ukraine, the U's take on the League Two leaders on Monday evening, live on Sky, with all ticket revenue going to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

Head Coach Brown was talking to the local press on Friday afternoon when he said: "What's going on over there is tragic and it's a fantastic gesture from the Chairman, it's imperative that we all get right behind it."

"We all tend to live in our own little bubble, I'm probably the worst at that, but there is a bigger picture.

"We're asking for a buy-in from everyone concerned and the aim is to raise £100,000, which is an unbelievable amount of money for us to send over there.

"It shows the lengths we're willing to go to as a club to help in general, and individually from the Chairman."

If you can make the game, the tickets have been reduced to £10, and every penny of that £10 will be going to the Appeal via the British Red Cross.

For those that can't make the game but would like to help, and those who have already supported us by purchasing a ticket but would like to donate further, there are two options:-

If you know someone who can attend the game on March 21st, buy them a ticket for £10 and let's get the JobServe Community Stadium as full as we possibly can.

If you don't know anyone that can attend, you can donate via our JustGiving page - all donations will be going directly to the work that the Red Cross are doing, and will continue to do, in helping Ukrainian civilians evacuating their country and fleeing into neighbouring Eastern European countries.
