Wayne Brown has said his side will be ready for whatever Tranmere throw at them on Saturday afternoon.

The U's head into the game off the back of two narrow defeats to sides at the top of the table, but Wayne Brown has said he, Joe Dunne and Dave Huzzey will have their team set up to take maximum points this weekend.

Speaking ahead of the game, Brown said he saw plenty of positives in the last couple of performances, despite the end result.

"It's been frustrating and disappointing for the lads more than anything else. We've just lacked that final bit of quality in the final third to get us that breakthrough, to get us that goal - something I think we dearly deserved on Monday night.

"But the lads have to take a lot of heart in how we went about our business, and how many chances we created. We've just got to find that killer instinct, that ruthlessness in the final third and I'm sure if we do that, we'll be winning games of football again.

"We need to recreate those situations and scenarios and get them finishing in training. It's the only way we can improve, and the lads know where we are falling short at the moment, but we are doing everything we can to put that right."
